Kevin Kiraly On Verde Q&A
It was announced just over a week ago that Kevin Kiraly would no longer be riding for Redline Bikes in 2009. However, it didn't take Kevin long at all to find a new home and it was recently announced that he is now riding for Verde. We caught up with Kevin via iChat to ask him a few questions about his new bike sponsor.
How long were you on the Redline team?
Almost three years; Rooftop got me on back in '06.
How did you end up parting ways with the company?
Times are tough, I guess. The economy is bad?
When did riding for Verde come about?
My good friend Justin Kosman put the word out that I would no longer be riding for Redline in '09. He hooked me up with Cory Muth from Verde (no homo) and we worked out a deal. I'm stoked!
What are your thoughts on representing Verde?
I'm really into the company's image. It's super clean and all of the products are really nice. I'm also psyched on how laid back the company is. They're down to send me to contests without stressing the results, but are also down for me to just chill, ride street, film, and shoot photos. I couldn't be happier.
Aside from representing Verde, what else do you have planned for '09?
I still plan on riding all of the Dew Tours and other contests. I want to travel more, ride some new places, and try to film a lot more. I love filming.
Any thanks?
Redline for three good years, Cory and Lou at Verde/Greenhouse, you guys are awesome! Kyle Carlson, BD, LiV Locals, and, last but not least, Justin Kosman. You're the man with a minivan!

Scotty Cranmer & Felt Sign Multiple Year Contract
Felt team manager Alan Foster sent over a note letting us know that Scotty Cranmer is going to be riding for Felt for years to come. Scotty missed a lot of 2008 due to injuries, but he looks to be firing on all cylinders for 2009. Here's what Alan and Felt had to say.
"I wanted to give everyone a quick heads up that Scotty Cranmer and Felt have resigned a multiple-year contract. Felt have been together since 2003 and hope to make it a long relationship, just like legend Gary Ellis did in the big G days. I for one am super excited to continue with Scotty and his family, the Cranmer family are a great family and 100% BMX. Scotty is happy to continue with Felt, is healed up from his foot and ready to ride, look for one of those crazy Scotty web videos soon."

Zack Warden Breaks an Ankle
Zack Warden was trying alley-oop 540s on the vert resi at Woodward East yesterday when things took a bad turn. He landed halfway on the resi and halfway on the ramp, which resulted in him getting flung onto flatbottom hard enough to give him whiplash. After he sat there for a minute he realized that his ankle hurt, and it turned out to be broken. Zack is scheduled to see an orthopedic surgeon on Monday to schedule surgery, and he's taking this all in stride. "I ride vert... This is my first broken bone, so I can't complain. It happens," Zack said.
Zack also came up with an interesting recovery program. His foot needs to be elevated, so right now he is driving from State College, PA to St. Louis, MO for Christmas—with his foot on the dashboard. This dude rules.
